CPR and AED Training
The Ormond Beach Fire Department is offering the American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver CPR and AED course at no charge to residents that live within the city limits. Classes will be scheduled the second Saturday of each quarter (January, April, July and October). Classes are from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) and are limited to 25 students. This course is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills. Optional modules in child CPR and AED use and infant CPR, including child and infant choking, will be offered to those interested at the end of the course. Upon completion of this course, students receive an AHA Heartsaver CPR and AED course completion card that is valid for two years.
Note: This course does not meet the requirements of the AHA Healthcare Provider course.

Child and Babysitting Safety Training
The Ormond Beach Fire Department will be offering for the citizens of Ormond Beach a Child And Babysitting Safety (CABS) training program through the American Safety & Health Institute. Classes will be offered in the spring and fall each year. Classes are from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) and are limited to 25 students. This course will provide young people with basic skill training and information that is necessary in caring for infants and children. This program will teach the importance of responsibility, recognizing an emergency, emergency action steps, personal safety, fire safety, water safety, infant care, basic first aid, choking management, and child/infant CPR. The program is designed for young people (ages 11-16) who will be babysitting or providing child and infant care. Participants will receive a CABS card upon successful completion of the course.
The cost of the training will be $10/person and participants will receive a Child and Babysitting Safety packet. Participants may bring lunch, or may purchase lunch at eateries nearby. School dress code will apply.
