The Board consists of five members and five alternate members, preferably composed of individuals with expertise in building construction and fire-safety standards, who are appointed by the City Commission. Members are required to file financial disclosures.
The Board of Adjustment and Appeals (BOAA) conducts hearings on determinations of the planning division manager, where an individual may allege there has been an error.
This board also hears appeals and requests for variances to any of the City’s adopted standard codes relative to building and construction. The board is governed by Chapter 1, Article II, Section 1-16 of the Land Development Code.
