Overview


The Ormond Beach Arts District Board is derived from the Ormond Beach Arts District, Inc., a not-for-profit 501(c) corporation, formed under the laws of the state to promote public and private art throughout the city.  The Ormond Beach Arts District Board serves as an advisory board to the City Commission by reviewing and making recommendations on a content neutral basis to the City Commission regarding proposals for the display of original artwork on public property and the displays of original artwork murals on private property in the city's Downtown Overlay District in accordance with section 3-72 of the Land Development Code, the Articles of Incorporation for Ormond Beach Arts District Inc., the City of Ormond Beach Code of Ordinances, and the adopted Rules of Procedure.  All Ormond Beach Arts District Board meetings related to city business and for such purposes of reviewing applications and making recommendations to the City Commission on proposed artwork shall be coordinated with the city's Planning Director, open to the public and held in accordance with the open meeting requirements of Chapter 286, Florida Statutes. 

Members


The Board currently consists of nine voting members elected under the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws of Ormond Beach Arts District, Inc., as well as three non-voting ex-officio members representing the Planning Department, Performing Arts Center, and Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens. The Planning Director or designee serves as an ex-officio member of the board for all public meetings.
