Division Chief Henry Osterkamp oversees Support Services, which includes the Communications, Records and Community Service units.

The Communications Unit includes a state-of-the-art Communications Center with an enhanced 911 system, an 800-MHz radio system and Computer Aided Dispatch.  This 24-hour center receives 16,000 police and fire emergency 911 calls a year and dispatches about 60,000 calls for service overall.

Police Communications CenterThe Records Unit includes several staff members who serve as the first point-of-contact for citizens who visit Police Headquarters or call the police non-emergency number.  Staff members enter about 25,000 reports, citations, and investigations into the police computer system for records retrieval and statistical analysis.

Community Service Officers are a responsive unit, which utilizes several non-sworn officers that handle a myriad of duties such as:  directing traffic at accident scenes and special events; processing prisoners; courier services; animal control and the trap-neuter-release program.  CSOs also handle some code enforcement and represent the city at Special Master code hearings.

Please be a responsible pet owner.  All dogs and cats are required to be vaccinated, licensed and wear a city tag on their collar.  Pet licenses are available at the Ormond Beach Police Station for only $5, or $3 if animal is spayed or neutered (please bring proof of rabies vaccination).
