Police Administration includes the office of the Chief of Police, the Professional Standards Unit, Internal Affairs and Training.

Police Chief Michael Longfellow directs the various divisions and units within the Police Department, ensuring a unified effort. The Police Chief also serves as the city’s Emergency Operations Officer and represents the department and the city on various boards primarily dealing with special events.

The Professional Standards Unit consists of the Internal Affairs Division, the Public Information Office and the Training Unit. Professional Standards is currently staffed by a Sergeant and one Police Officer. Professional Standards is responsible for conducting all internal affairs investigations and the maintenance of disciplinary records, pre-employment background investigations on all finalists for employment with the agency, various audits of the department's facilities and assets, the administration of the department's training programs, and the handling of all media requests and press releases.
