The Building Inspection & Permitting Division is responsible for:

Reviewing all construction plans for residential, commercial and industrial construction;
Issuing approximately 4,500 building permits annually;
Conducting approximately 7,000 building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical inspections for various types of construction within the City limits of Ormond Beach.

All inspection and permitting activities are conducted in accordance with the Florida Building Code and other State and local laws.

Inspection and Permitting issues approximately 2,100 contractor registrations and 2,200 occupational licenses on an annual basis, and regulates sign usage.
