| Local homeland security response and links Since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the Ormond Beach Police and Fire Departments, as well as all city offices, continue to review and upgrade the city's security and emergency procedures as needed. The Police and Fire departments have formed an Emergency Preparedness Team in place to continually review and are forming a joint Critical Incident Team that would be crossed trained in a variety of Emergency Management situations, including terrorism and biohazard. Additionally, the State has mandated that all police and firefighters receive Weapons of Mass Destruction training, which includes training in biohazard threats. For
