The Citizens’ Law Enforcement Advisory Board acts in an advisory capacity to the Police Chief. The Board reviews citizen allegations against the Police Department regarding the use of deadly force, the use of excessive force, and any instance wherein police action results in death or serious bodily injury. In addition, the Police Chief submits directives concerning discipline, equal employment opportunities, sexual harassment and other issues determined by the Police Chief to be of significant community interest to the Board for review and recommendations thereon.  The board meets at least quarterly in the Police Department, and it is governed by Section 2-223 of the Code of Ordinances.
