The Board of Adjustments and Appeals (BOAA) conducts hearings on determinations of the Planning Division Manager where an individual may allege there has been an error. This Board also hears appeals and requests for variances to any of the City’s adopted standard codes relative to building and construction. The Board consists of five members and five alternate members, preferably composed of individuals with expertise in building construction and fire-safety standards, who are appointed by the City Commission. The Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month, and the staff liaison is the Planning Division Manager. The Board is governed by the Land Development Code. Members are required to file financial disclosures.
