Pilots who use the Ormond Beach Airport take part in a voluntary noise abatement program that is designed to minimize the noise to the surrounding neighborhoods: - Airplanes taking off from the airport wait until reaching an altitude of 1000 feet before turning; - When possible, pilots are encouraged to make their turns over the undeveloped areas to the north and west of the airport, avoiding the residential developments to the east and south. - A right traffic pattern is standard for runways 17 and 26, rather than the standard left traffic pattern. -
Helicopter pilots utilize designated arrival and departure corridors at the
airport to minimize noise impact: View
